No, you do not have to opt-in for offers to use Tellshare's messaging service. Tellshare's offers are available to its members as an added benefit. You can opt-in at any time.

Can I opt-in or opt-out anytime?
Yes, members can opt-in at any time for an offer. You can update your interests in the My Account page and opt-in there. Or, you can opt-in for offers available on our site. Once you join an offer, you can leave that offer by clicking the 'Leave' on the My Offers section of the My Tellshare page. You can also temporarily stop an offer's messages from be delivered to you by clicking the STOP/START MESSAGES button on the My Offers section of the My Tellshare page.

How do I send a message?
You can send a message 5 ways:
1. On the left side of every page is a SEND MESSAGE area. You can select a group that you have joined to send a message to or you can select a member in your address book to send a message to. Make your selection, type some text in the message box, click arrow button and your good to go.
2. You can go to your address book and click the MESSAGE button on the member you want to send a message to. A message window will pop-up. Just enter your text in the box, click the arrow button and away it goes.
3. You can search for a member at the FIND A MEMBER page. Once you have found the member you want to send a message to, click the MESSAGE button and a message window will pop-up. Just enter your text in the box, click the arrow button and away it goes.
4. If you have an Internet - enabled phone, point your phone's browser to wap.tellshare.com. The first time you use the site, you will have to log in with your user id and password. From the Main Menu, press 7 to send a message. Next press 1 to send a message to a Group, or 2 to send a message to member. If you choose 1, "Send a Message to a Group", you will be presented with a list of 9 groups that you belong to as well as the option to see "More" groups. Each Group has a number next to it. Press the number of the group you wish to send a message to. If you choose 2, "Address Book", you will be presented with a list of 9 members in your address book as well as the option to see "More" members in your address book.
Each member has a number next to it. Press the number of the individual you wish to send a message to. Once you've selected your message recipient, simply compose your message with your phone's keypad. This is similar to the way you input names and phone numbers on your mobile phone. You enter letters and numbers by pressing the appropriate keys on your phone. Each key has more than one value. For example, pressing the 2 key once gives you the letter A. Twice gives you the letter B. Four times is the number 2. Five times and you're back to A. Once you've finished typing your message (remember, 80 characters max!), press "Send" and your message will go out.
5. If you have a 2-way SMS enabled phone that allows you to send messages to an email address you can send messages to individual Tellshare members or Groups. Each Tellshare member has his or her own email address consisting of "@tellshare.com". If you are a Tellshare member and you send an message from your phone to that address, the Tellshare member will receive it. Each Tellshare group has its own email address consisting of "-grp@tellshare.com." If you are a Tellshare member and you send a message from your phone to that address, the Tellshare group will receive it.

How do I reply to a message?
You can reply to a message 3 ways:
1. You can use the Tellshare WAP site
2. If you have a 2-way SMS enables phone, select reply and send a message.
3. You can use the Tellshare web site.

How do I join a group?
You can join a group by selecting "FIND A GROUP' on the navigation bar on the left. Once you have found the group you are interested in, simply click the join button for that group. This will take you to the JOIN page. Here, you have the choice to opt-in for offers related to the groups category and subcategory. After making your choice, click the JOIN NOW button.

How do I leave a group?
You can leave a group by simply clicking the LEAVE button next to the group you want to leave on the MY TELLSHARE page.

How do I start my own group?
Starting a group is easy. Simply click START A GROUP on the menu. This takes you to the START A GROUP page. You must enter a name and description for the group. You can choose to hide members from view on the web site. This means that a group's members cannot know who are the other members of that group. You can select to make the group public or private. Selecting 'Public' would make the group open to all Tellshare members.
Selecting 'Private' would require permission from the group's founder to join. Only the private groups members will be allowed to view other member's user's ids. Next, you must select between whether the group's members or the group's founder can exchange messages.

How do I join an offer?
You can join an offer by selecting "FIND AN OFFER on the navigation bar on the left. Once you have found the offer you are interested in, simply click the sign-up button for that offer. Tellshare also features offers on the MY TELLSHARE page. You simply sign-up for any featured offer on the MY TELLSHARE page.

How do I leave an offer?
You can leave an offer by simply clicking the LEAVE button next to the offer you want to leave on the MY TELLSHARE page.

How do I use the address book?
You can access the address book from the menu on the left of the web site. To add Tellshare members to your address book, all you have to do is find a member you want to add and click the ADD button. You can send messages to a member in your address book by using the selection box on the left of every Tellshare page or by selecting MY ADDRESS BOOK on the menu and clicking the MESSAGE button next to the member you want to send a message to.

How do I block someone from sending me messages?
To block a member from sending you messages, simply select MY BLOCK LIST on the menu. Then you click the ADD MEMBER button. This brings up the FIND A MEMBER page. Search for the member you want to block and click the BLOCK button. The blocked member will now appear in you're MY BLOCK LIST.

How do I change my mobile device info?
To change your mobile device information, simply go to the MY ACCOUNT page and select 'My Mobile Devices'. You will then see you mobile device info. Click on the update button, make the necessary changes and then click the UPDATE button. A message with a validation code will be sent to your device. You must enter that validation code in Tellshare web site in order to use your mobile device.

What is the mobile device validation all about?
The mobile device validation process provides a way to verify whether your mobile device is capable of receiving text messages. The validation number is sent via a text message to your device. If you do not receive the message, either the mobile device information that you entered in the Tellshare My Account page is incorrect or your mobile device messaging capabilities are not enabled. You can contact your carrier to verify your mobile device's capabilities.
